Volkswagen shifts into high gear

Volkswagen's ability to work in the local environment for customer communications, product information and technical manuals dictates how rapidly it can deliver new car models to different markets. With TRADOS solutions to optimize the company's entire information lifecycle -- from document creation through translation to publication, including integration with EMC Documentum's enterprise content management system -- Volkswagen enjoyed a 114% productivity increase, slashing production time for content by more than half. Before TRADOS, the VW team labored to localize information in just eight languages. With TRADOS, the same team works so much more effectively that it expanded coverage to 29 languages, on top of handling an additional 1.4 million pages of text, without raising costs.
