C.2. Reports cover translation in the cloud and freelance translators

Common Sense Advisory, Inc., an independent market research firm specializing in the language service industry, conducted a survey with 257 buyers and suppliers of language technology and services about their experiences with translation offerings that were not installed on their own computers or networks. The results are included in the industry report "Translation in the Cloud."

The report "Voices from the Freelance Translator Community" describes concerns and reviews critical issues affecting the work of freelance translators.

C.3. LORG natural language parser

The Centre for Next Generation Localisation and the National Centre for Language Technology have announced the release of LORG, a natural language parser. The parser has been tested on English, Arabic and French. It is implemented in C++ and has also been tested on Linux (Suse and Ubuntu), Windows and Mac OS platforms. It is an open-source release for non-commercial use only.
