Towards the Promised Land: Developments in Internationalization @ W3C

The W3C is alive with new standards activity of interest to web globalizers. From HTML5 to CSS3, from JavaScript to Unicode bidi, support for creating international content and Web-based applications is evolving quickly. Addison Phillips, the globalization architect at Lab126 (creator of the Amazon Kindle e-book reader and Kindle Fire tablet) and current chair of the W3C Internationalization Core Working Group, will explore the changes that are available today, the status of these standards, and the challenges that remain.
